Time saving and better organisation in Atenas scouting with Nacsport 

Atenas is probably the most successful team within Argentinian basketball. They hold more than 20 trophies at all levels, both in national league and South America. Their coaching staff have started using Nacsport this season and the results have been great so far.

At the moment of posting this blog, they are in second position of the LNB (Argentinian top-tier national competition) after eight games, only one win behind current champs and other Nacsport users San Lorenzo. 

Gustavo Rossotto is Atenas’ assistant coach and responsible for performance analysis, together with Marcelo Arrigoni. He explains their short but productive relationship with Nacsport:“We have been working with the software for six months and we are really happy with the results. Nacsport enables us to be quicker and more effective when it comes to analysis. It’s been a great leap to analyse games in real time when we are the home team”.

“We were introduced to Nacsport before the season started and we were impressed with so many possibilities to improve our workflows. It is a really advanced solution that provides us with quality work”, he adds. “Analysis becomes more agile, we save much time and our data is organised and ordered as a result”.

Focused on opposition

Nacsport is capable to register any event or instance in sports as far as they have been captured. Then, it depends on the user to translate data into insights or analysis. Atenas’ video analysts focus on opposition. “We analyse our opponents as a team and their players individually. Highlights are presented with our players so they can count on much more information to face games”, tells Rossotto.

“Presentations usually contain actions from our opponent’s last three games (Atenas own a Scout Plus licence, which allows up to 5 videos to be used in presentations). Our head coach receives a summary with around one hundred actions”.

“Then, our coach Nicolas Casalanguidadecides what will be shown in the final presentation to players: usually around 15-20 team clips and 5-10 of each player. The structure is the following: first offensive actions, then defensive ones, with individual clips to finish”.
